[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]We<\/span> participated<\/span> in <\/span>the<\/span> Northern<\/span> Script<\/span> short<\/span> film<\/span> project<\/span>,<\/span> whic<\/span>h<\/span> is<\/span> par<\/span>t<\/span> of<\/span> th<\/span>e<\/span> Oulu International<\/span> Children’<\/span>s<\/span> and<\/span> Yout<\/span>h<\/span> Film Festival.<\/span> W<\/span>e<\/span> ha<\/span>d<\/span> th<\/span>e<\/span> opportunit<\/span>y<\/span> to<\/span> choos<\/span>e<\/span> ou<\/span>r<\/span> favorit<\/span>e<\/span> scrip<\/span>t<\/span> out of<\/span> te<\/span>n<\/span> and<\/span> creat<\/span>e<\/span> a<\/span> shor<\/span>t<\/span> fil<\/span>m<\/span> base<\/span>d<\/span> on it.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”29px”][vc_column_text]The<\/span> IDNR <\/span>(Ihmisten Demokraattinen <\/span>Nosiryhm\u00e4<\/span>, \u2018\u2019<\/span>The<\/span> People\u2019s<\/span> Democratic<\/span> NoSI<\/span>-Group\u2019\u2019) <\/span>production<\/span> team <\/span>consisted<\/span> of Paavo Salonurmi, Lenni Laine, Miia Mahlakaarto, Miika <\/span>Siuvatti<\/span>, and Milja Vuoti. <\/span>We<\/span> selected<\/span> ”<\/span>Festklovn<\/span>,” <\/span>written<\/span> by<\/span> Lasse <\/span>Krintel<\/span>, <\/span>which<\/span> tells<\/span> the<\/span> story<\/span> of 16-year-old Charlie at <\/span>his<\/span> class<\/span>\u2019<\/span> house party, <\/span>where<\/span> he <\/span>doesn’t<\/span> feel<\/span> welcome<\/span> as <\/span>himself<\/span>. <\/span>The<\/span> script<\/span> is <\/span>visual<\/span> and <\/span>concise<\/span>, <\/span>allowing<\/span> more<\/span> time<\/span> for <\/span>pre-production<\/span>. In <\/span>pre-production<\/span>, <\/span>we<\/span> planned<\/span> locations<\/span>, <\/span>sets<\/span>, <\/span>costumes<\/span>, and <\/span>created<\/span> schedules<\/span> and a <\/span>shot<\/span> list<\/span>. <\/span>We<\/span> also<\/span> started<\/span> casting<\/span> actors<\/span> right<\/span> away<\/span>. <\/span>We<\/span> carefully<\/span> planned<\/span> the<\/span> lighting<\/span> to <\/span>emphasize<\/span> different<\/span> emotions<\/span> with<\/span> colors<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”10117″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”10116″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Shooting Days<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the first shooting day, we prepared the set. We used colorful lights, smoke machines, balloons, and cans to create a party atmosphere. The shooting days lasted from 18:00 to 22:00, during which we aimed to capture as much footage as possible. We managed to shoot everything in four days, leaving enough time for editing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column][\/vc_column][vc_column][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column offset=”vc_col-md-5″][vc_single_image image=”10132″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][vc_column offset=”vc_col-md-7″][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Not Everything Went as Planned<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although everything else went according to schedule, we faced challenges in casting actors. We secured actors for the roles of the mother and Noel only a couple of days before shooting, and one of our actors had to cancel on the day of shooting. Fortunately, we quickly found a replacement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, we had to add an extra shooting day more than a week later for the remaining outdoor scenes because the actor couldn’t make it on that day. By that time, there had been snowfall, so we had to move the scene indoors and shoot the necessary outdoor shots in a way that didn’t reveal any ground.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the challenges, the team spirit and enthusiastic work remained intact throughout the production, and we are all very satisfied with the end result.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
